Summary:
This position assists in and performs duties related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of substations and all associated equipment including power transformers, voltage regulators, breakers, reclosers, capacitors, switches.

Summary:
This position assists in and performs duties related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of substations and all associated equipment including power transformers, voltage regulators, breakers, reclosers, capacitors, switches.
Principal Duties:
- Follow all safety standards and participate in required safety training.
- Perform basic installation, operation, and inspection of substation equipment—including voltage regulators, reclosers, circuit breakers, switches, and power transformers.
- Use electrical measurement devices (voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters) and applicable diagnostic tools safely and accurately to evaluate substation apparatus.
- Install and terminate electrical, control, communication, and fiber-optic cabling systems, including conduit, junction boxes, wiring assemblies, and related components.
- Assist with wiring and installing protection and control equipment, such as relay panels, metering devices, and interconnect components.
- Read and interpret control and electrical wiring diagrams and schematics to support installation and troubleshooting activities.
- Apply established troubleshooting practices—enhanced by hands-on training and guided diagnostics—to pinpoint issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure safe and reliable system operation.
- Support after-hours system restoration efforts as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors, and perform tasks independently when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
